The City of Shaker Heights has a national reputation for excellence in public education, architecturally rich housing options, exemplary public services, and a distinguished history as a progressive and diverse community. As a result, the Shaker brand has come to be associated with excellence on all levels. Shaker Life strives to convey excellence in all aspects of its publication, and has done so for more than 30 years.

- 2021 — Savvy Award of Excellence for the cover of the Winter 2021 issue; Savvy Award for Multi-Image Use for the “Evolution of Residential Architecture” in the Spring 2020 issue
- 2019—Savvy Award for Publication Excellence for the Spring 2019 issue
- 2017 — Apex Award for Feature Writing for “Interior Design: A Fresh Look” in the Summer 2016 issue

If you’re a resident of Shaker Heights, then you’re already receiving the print edition of Shaker Life. Shaker Life is published four times a year by the City of Shaker Heights, Department of Communications and Marketing and is distributed free to residents of the Shaker Heights City School District.
On this website, you will find many of the articles that originally appeared in the print edition. You can also access an Archive of past issues or just enjoy the beauty of Shaker Heights in one of our photo galleries. Copies of the print magazine are available for purchase for $5.25 per issue. Subscriptions are also available.
