Boulevard Neighborhood n Neighbor #1 I wanted to thank those
neighbors who take the time on busy mornings to clear their sidewalks
for schoolchildren and dog walkers. My teacher used to say when writing
character you should show not tell. I really appreciate ‘reading’ your commitment to
community in the cleared walkways. Thank you!
Living in Shaker Heights n Neighbor #1 A woman named Jo that lives
6 houses down from me on Winchell walks up and down the street anytime we
get a big snow and offers to do people’s driveways. She doesn’t want money…
just says “do you need help, if I can help you, please let me…” I still pay her and she
finally takes it after lots of back & forth. She is such a sweet lady and I’m grateful to live
in a true neighborhood where we all look out for each other. We are so blessed to live in
a community like this and sometimes I feel that we take it for granted. I’m from a small
town (Chagrin Falls) and to me Shaker Heights has the closeness of a small town with
the feel of city life. I just wanted to share a “feel good” story and to say thank you to
everyone that epitomizes what this community is all about! n Neighbor #2 So sweet!
A good neighbor is worth their weight in gold lol! n Neighbor #3 A true snow angel.
n Neighbor #4 If this is the Jo I think it is, yes she’s an absolutely great person!!
n Neighbor #5 Thank you for sharing – it’s so nice to read good news and about
Shaker? Even better! Bravo Jo! n Neighbor #6 I agree! Love watching all the kids on
the sledding hill today walking to and from home and watching out for each other. Such
a special place. n Neighbor #7 Love this lots! n Neighbor #8 That’s lovely, thanks
for sharing. n Neighbor #9 With all the sensational bad news always blasted at us,
it is great to hear of someone like her. There really are so many helpful, wonderful folks
out there. They just tend to get buried in our minds by the not so great happenings in
the world. Yay! Thanks for sharing! n Neighbor #10 We have a neighbor – I don’t
even know his name, who snow blows the sidewalks on our street after he does his
driveway. Almar Drive neighbor, whoever you are, thank you, thank you!! SL
