Van Aken
On Tr a c k Welcome to
Shaker Heights,
Le Chaperon rouge
and
McGlinchey Stafford
These two businesses will make the Van Aken District their new home,
bringing employees and clients to Shaker’s new downtown and adding to
the vibrancy of the entire neighborhood.
Le Chaperon Rouge in Shaker? Mais oui, bien sûr!
With its welcoming, windowed façade, Le Chaperon Rouge appears to be opening its eyes to its new surroundings at 3350
Warrensville Center Road, near the intersection with Farnsleigh Road. This private childcare, preschool, and early elementary
school offers a full-day program for children aged six weeks to 12 years. It will be the 12th location in Northeast Ohio, and
the first in the inner ring suburbs, for this highly regarded school.
The 16,000 square foot building gives renewed life to the former site of a Masonic Temple and a Unity Church, a key
parcel in the heart of the Van Aken District. The project benefitted from commercial tax abatement and Cuyahoga County
demolition funds, both critical tools in bringing this building from concept to reality. With the doors opening soon, the
whole area will buzz with the energy of nearly 180 young children and 25 teachers.
