The Shaker Heights Landmark Commission has announced the winners of the eighth
annual Preservation Month Photo Contest. The contest honors Preservation Month, which is celebrated each May
by preservation organizations across the country. The contest takes place on Instagram. Twenty-four photographers
submitted 67 entries at the hashtag #PreserveSH20.
The contest encouraged residents and visitors to submit images showcasing what makes Shaker “Shaker.”
Submissions ranged from specific architectural details and landmark buildings to neighborhood scenes, events,
streets, and parks.
“In challenging times, celebrating the spirit of Shaker Heights visually through its architecture, green spaces, and
people is what unites all the winners of the Preservation Month Photo Contest this year,” says Council Member Nancy
