The Shaker Heights Landmark Commission announced the winners of the fifth annual Preservation Month photo contest after reviewing 75 entries submitted by 30 photographers. The contest, created in 2013, honors National Preservation Month, which is celebrated each May by preservation organizations across the country.

Submitted photographs display the beauty of the City’s natural and built environments while featuring a variety of architectural styles and city icons. “The winners highlight the subtle details that make Shaker so visually rich and showcase beloved buildings in a new light,” says Ann Klavora, principal planner for the City. “As always, it was a pleasure receiving and reviewing the submissions.”

The Commission selected winners in each of three announced categories: Parks and Public Spaces, Moreland Neighborhood, and Buildings. Click a photograph below to view a gallery of the winners.
