The Shaker Schools Foundation presents
Alan Safier as George Burns in “Say
Goodnight Gracie,” the Tony-nominated
solo-actor play by Rupert Holmes. The
performance is open to the public and
co-sponsored by the Shaker Heights High
School Class of 1967, of which Safier is a
member. All proceeds benefit the Shaker
Schools Foundation’s Legacy Fund, a
permanent endowment that provides
support to the Shaker Schools in the areas
of academia, arts, technology, health and
fitness, and special initiatives. Tickets: $35,
$50/person, with discounts for Shaker

Hike, Run & Explore
Take your pick of a variety of hikes,
including a 1-mile, pet-friendly, family hike;
a 4-mile Doan Brook Gorge hike; a 6-mile
Shaker Lakes history hike; and 12-mile
roundtrip hike to Lake Erie, all departing at
8:45 am. 5K and 10K races begin at 9 am.
Crafts, tree climbing, archery, music, food,
and beverages are offered from 10 am until
2 pm. Hikes are $20/person; $10/children
12 and under, Scouts and school club
members. Races are $20 before September
4, $25 before September 14, and $30 on
race day.
