A Different Take on Make
April 28…that’s the day to be at the The Dealership, 3558 Lee Road, from 11 am – 4 pm.
It’s a day for Makers and those curious about making.
The second annual Shaker Makers event is for innovators, engineers, and
entrepreneurs of all ages. It’s a show-and-tell, make-and-touch, and build-a-business
opportunity. The Dealership will be buzzing with creativity. The event features
something for all ages, including hands-on demonstrations and build-a-business
workshops. The event is free and open to the public.
Plan to attend sessions to learn about small business ecosystems and
transitioning from hobbyist to entrepreneur. Save plenty of time to browse the
Young Entrepreneurs Market. For schedule details go to shakeronline.com/newsand
If you want to be an exhibitor at the event, apply at bit.ly/MakerApp2018 by
April 10. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Artists, performers, engineers,
innovators, and entrepreneurs of all kinds are invited to showcase their skills and
experiences. This can include specialized workshops or hands-on activities.
The deadline is April 10 for interested students in grades 6-12 who want to
sign up to participate in the Young Entrepreneur Market, sponsored by the Young
Entrepreneur Institute (YEI) at University School (youngentrepreneurinstitute.
org). YEI offers students a real-world experience selling their products to the
public. Pre-event coaching for first-time student entrepreneurs is available. Sign
up at bit.ly/YoungEntrep2018.

I want to compliment your editorial staff and your art director, Deborah Edwards,
on the exceptional quality of Shaker Life. I’m not a graphic designer, but the clean,
fresh layout, the photography, and the great content match or exceed many national
publications. Keep up the good work! – David Yen SL
