Martin oversees the Cleveland Jewish
Archives, a program set up by WRHS in
1976 with the cooperation of the Jewish
Federation of Cleveland. His job is to
collect material – usually correspondence,
photographs, and documents from individuals
or organizations – that help tell the
stories of the region’s Jewish community.
He then processes the material, organizes
it so researchers can find what they need
easily, and makes it available to the public
through the WRHS Research Library.

When a reader seeks advice, a
librarian will ask what books readers
have enjoyed in the past, what currently
interests them or what they want to learn.
Further questions might arise about books

like the theme of the book? All of this
information is used to recommend books
readers are likely to enjoy.
