Cuba Today: An Inventory of Unexplored Possibilities Many Americans are eager to visit Cuba before it changes, while many Cubans are very eager for that change. Join Damaris Punales-Alpizar from 7-8:30 pm Tuesday, May 2 for an exploration of what the future may hold for Cuba. Punales-Alpizar is associate professor of Hispanic Studies (Cuban and Caribbean) at Case Western Reserve University. She has a BA in Journalism from the University of Havana, and advanced degrees in Hispanic Literature from the University of Iowa. She has worked as a journalist in Cuba, Belize, and Mexico. Since 2010, she has worked at CWRU where she teaches courses on literature, film, Caribbean and Latin American culture, and literary theory.
