The stipend enables the Library
to host conversation-based public programming

and “Slavery by Another Name.” Dr. Deborah
Abbott and Dr. Ronnie Dunn moderated

lecturer in African-American history at
Cleveland State University, moderates a
discussion on the film “Freedom Riders.”
Whyte will show excerpts
from the documentary
film for an inside
look at the brave

who challenged
segregation in the
Deep South. At 2 pm
Saturday, April 11 at
Main Library, residents
are invited to watch the
film in its entirety.
At 7 pm Thursday, April 30 at Main
Library Renee Romano, professor of History

that culminated
in the landmark
Supreme Court
decision Loving
v. Virginia,
which overturned
anti-miscegenation laws
in our country. The film will be shown at 2 pm
Saturday, May 2 at Bertram Woods Branch.
At 7pm Thursday, May 14 at Main
