Knit Mornings are held from 10 am
to noon on the first Wednesday of every
month at Main Library; Knit Nights
are held from 7-8:45 pm the third
Wednesday of every month at Woods
Branch. Bring a project and get or give
help at these sessions moderated by
experienced knitters.
American Sign Language Classes
are held from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesdays,
April 16 through June 4 at Main Library.
American Sign Language teacher Valerie
Williams teaches basic signing. The class
is progressive, building from one skill to
another, and is appropriate for adults
and children over age 10 accompanied by
an adult. Expect homework each week.
Registration is required.
Book Buzz meets from 10-11:30 am on
the second Tuesday of the month at the
Main Library. Books for the discussions are
available at the Main Library Information
Desk one month before the discussion.
Mystery Book Discussions meet from
7:30-8:30 pm on the second Tuesday
of the month at Main Library. Join this
group and discuss whodunit.
Fourth Tuesday Book Discussions
meet from 7-8:30 pm on the fourth
Tuesday of every month at Main Library.
Poetry in the Woods meets at 7 pm the
last Wednesday of the month at Bertram
Woods Branch.
Kids and Teens
For young families with children,
programs include such popular events as
book parties, reading to trained listening
dogs, and hands-on crafts. For details,

Read to a Dog at Main Library
(Grades K-6). 4-5:30 pm Thursdays,
April 17, May 15, and June 19. Register

two weeks before each program.
“How to Train Your Dragon” Book
Party at Main Library (Grades 1-5),
2:30–3:30 pm Saturday, April 19. Crafts
and snacks included. Register in person,
online, or by phone beginning April 5.
Meet American Girl Doll Rebecca at
Woods Branch (Grades 1-5), 2:30-3:30
pm Saturday, April 26. Listen to a chapter
from a book in Rebecca’s series, watch
a DVD, make a craft, and enjoy a snack.

“Big Nate” Book Party at Main Library
(Grades 2-6), 2:30-3:30 pm Saturday, May
17. Join the popular gang from PS 38 for
activities, a craft, and a snack. Register in

Mom says not to worry...
